Sushi Chef

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in Japanese cuisine, and will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety practices. Duties • Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards. • Ensure the quality of ingredients used in meal preparation is fresh and meets safety guidelines. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. • Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi offerings. • Adhere to all food safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe dining experience for guests. • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed in sushi preparation techniques. Qualifications • Proven experience in the food service industry, particularly in a restaurant setting. • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and ingredients. • Familiarity with food safety standards and practices. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. • A passion for culinary arts and willingness to help others learn in the kitchen. • Previous experience as a cook or dietary aide is a plus.
