Sushi Chef

Job Description Sushi Restaurant is seeking a full time Sushi Chefs for various shifts located at the Coronado location. DUTIES • Create quality sushi including cooking rice, rolling sushi, temperature recording, cutting and packaging. • Ensure all operating standards including food safety and quality are strictly adhered to • Greet, interact, and communicate with customers • Provide a high level of attention to guest satisfaction and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers • Actively display knowledge of all sushi menu items • Prepare sushi related products and apply proper cutting techniques • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sushi bar • May order and receive raw materials and dry goods • Ensure all required log books, including rice pH log and temperature logs, are maintained and verified • Share ingredients & nutritional information about the sushi products to encourage sales and customer interaction • Promote the fact that product is "made fresh daily" by trained sushi chefs • Friendly, knowledgeable, and represents our business professionally • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Experienced sushi chef highly preferred • Prior food handling experience a must • ServSafe Certified and knowledge of HAACP standards preferred • Strong customer service skills • Team Player • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. • Ability to stand for extended periods of time Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $20.00 per hour Benefits: • Health insurance • Paid sick time • Paid training Shift: • Night shift Shift availability: • Day Shift (Required) • Night Shift (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • San Diego, CA 92101 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • San Diego, CA 92101: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
