Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring that all food safety guidelines are followed while delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate the timing of sushi orders with other menu items.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into sushi creations.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests and addressing any questions or concerns.
Skills: they may have
- Strong culinary skills, with a focus on sushi preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of different types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi dishes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and slicing of ingredients.
- Experience in menu planning and creating new sushi roll combinations.
- Familiarity with bartending techniques for creating specialty cocktails to pair with sushi dishes.
- Understanding of food production processes, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels of ingredients.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and provide leadership when necessary.
Experience
β’ Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or food industry is preferred.
β’ Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
β’ Experience working in fine dining establishments is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with catering services is beneficial but not required.
β’ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability for tasks.
β’ A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 β 50 per week
