Sushi Chef/sushi helper / sushi assist

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene practices, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Prepare and present sushi dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards. • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations. • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal preparation and service. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. • Assist in menu planning and development, including catering options for special events. • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating dietary preferences. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry or restaurant setting. • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. • Familiarity with various sushi types, preparation methods, and presentation styles. • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Previous experience in catering or meal preparation is a plus. • A passion for culinary arts and helping others enjoy delicious meals.
