Job Description Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join GE Aerospace's Sustainability Team as a subject matter expert to collaborate in building our Sustainability practice by driving strategic analysis that will help to enhance GE Aerospace's reputation across ESG issues.
GE Aerospace aspires to be an industry climate leader enabling sustainable growth. Sustainability reporting and ESG ratings management are key components of how we share our story with investors, NGOs, Government, customers, and employees.
The candidate in this role will work closely with internal business partners and subject matter experts across the business to advise on ESG risks and opportunities with the goal of positioning GE Aerospace as an industry climate leader. Candidate will build relationships with external agencies and stakeholders to gather insights and provide input into our Sustainability disclosures strategy. In this role, the ideal candidate will help drive year over year improvement in ESG reporting across industry ranking and ratings and stakeholder inquiries

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee data collection and submissions to ESG ratings and research firms including but not limited to CDP, Sustainalytics, MSCI, ISS, S&P, Ecovadis.
  • Perform comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis of all relevant ESG ranking and rating reports to ensure accuracy. Familiarity with scoring methodologies is a plus.
  • Conduct gap analysis to derive insights on key areas of opportunity and work with internal business partners in development of action plans to close gaps.
  • Track ESG industry best practices through periodic benchmarking to keep leadership informed.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to create a strategy to position GE Aerospace for third party recognitions and awards.
  • Establish and manage the relationship with rankings and ratings agencies. Remain abreast of methodology changes and actively manage controversies as needed.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration with other organizations including but not limited to Controllership, Legal Staff, Corporate Secretary, and Government Affairs.
  • Responsible for customers enquiries regarding Sustainability matters

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a sustainability/environmental/data related field required. Master's in Sustainability, Environmental Science or MBA preferred.
  • 3 years+ minimum working experience in ESG reporting including other non-financial disclosures (SASB, TCFD, UNSDG, CDP, DJSI) in a corporate setting or consulting firm.
  • 5 years+ of experience working with global cross-functional teams and ability to influence without authority.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Hands on experience managing environmental or sustainability software solutions.
  • Experience identifying, tracking, and reporting on ESG data management and KPIs, including developing systematic processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to partner with a wide range of internal colleagues.
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to work independently and proactively and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
