Job Purpose and Impact

The Sustainable Sourcing and Traceability Lead will lead the development and execution of strategic sustainability initiatives with businesses, suppliers and other external stakeholders that drive progress in key environmental and social impact areas from both a compliance and commercial value standpoint. In this role, you will build partnerships with suppliers across value chains, engage external organizations to advance sustainability frameworks and engage, educate and influence internal and external stakeholders to execute on the organization's purpose to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead global Animal Nutrition and Health (ANH) approach to Sustainable Sourcing and Traceability, translating strategic direction into programs and guiding ANH groups. Build partnerships and relationships across Cargill and to provide input to developing practices and policies, support the execution of company-wide Sustainability initiatives, and leverage network of peers for best practice sharing
• Sustainable Sourcing: identify key initiatives together with ANH Risk Management and Sourcing and use these as a basis to develop scalable programs that deliver the most significant impact on our ANH sustainability commitments, in support of and aligned with our Cargill sustainability commitments (Climate, Land, Water, People). Initiate, manage & track global programs and work with regional colleagues to scale regional programs.
• Data and Traceability: drive improvements in sustainability data quality and traceability, working closely with Data, Traceability and Life-cycle analysis specialists in ANH and across Cargill. This includes but is not limited to increasing automation and ensuring alignment on data architecture and methodology.
• Responsible Sourcing: work with ANH Risk Management and Sourcing colleagues globally and in-region, as well as the Cargill Global Responsible Sourcing Leader to set out the road to compliance with (upcoming) regulation, e.g. CS3D. Follow up on findings and actions from independent audits, partnering with colleagues to build capabilities and embed new ways of working.
• Communicate sustainability policies and objectives to partners and customers with the purpose to drive alignment on our policies and requirements.
• Identify and work with external partners like nongovernmental organizations, foundations, universities and government offices for program design, implementation, securing additional funding and project work.
• Develop, maintain and apply industry leading expertise in sustainability as it applies to the relevant sustainability topic area, customer segment or geo-species combinations.
• Represent the company in external senior level stakeholder forums and media in matters related to sustainability.
• Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of six years of related work experience, working in supply chains and with supply chain data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing people both directly and indirectly
• Proven track record to influence and drive results across matrixed organization
• Experience with Food and Agriculture industry
