In this position

This position is a Technical Expert role within the Switch team and is focused on supporting those engineering teams in the development and assessment of design proposals for all switch commodities. The focus of the position is to support designs for all new platforms and top hats to support the delivery of the GPDS milestones. This TE role will also require providing technical support to our peer Core and Applications teams in the electronics department as needed.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

Lead HIR (High Impact Requirement) review process.

Signoff of System Interface/ Subsystem Interface/ Component with specific signoff responsibility BEFORE Chief Signoff.

Go-to person for Problem Solving support - Launch, Recall, Quality/ Field Issues.

Coach Mentor and Train.

New technology AR (Application Readiness).

Technology Roadmap.

Significant issue leadership.

Significant contributor to switch strategies.

CDP&R (Compliance Demonstration Plan and Report) signoff.

Generic PDP (perfect drawing plan) lead.

Creation and maintenance of the core engineering documents (FMA documents, SDS/ Requirements and test procedures, etc).

Lead TDRs for System/ Subsystem/ component.

WCCA (worst case circuit analysis) guidance.

FUSA (Functional Safety) guidance.

Global support of D&R and application engineering team.

Support interfacing teams such as latch, fuel door, etc., on request.

Contributor in the sourcing process (supplier design, and supplier evaluation).

Support customer interface development (harmony team) on switch feel and switch sound.

Campaign prevention process lead and hold lessons learned list.

Qualifications

You'll have

Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

10 years of engineering experience in product development.

6 years of experience in Switch Engineering.

Even better, you may have

Experience in Ford's WERS release process/AVBOM/AIMS/FEDE/GPDS/Integrator systems.

Familiar with quality tools including FMEAs, 8Ds.

Familiarity with the following technical skills: (Vehicle CAN communications, electronic module packaging, understanding vehicle schematics).

Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail; Results driven and has sense of urgency.

Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Strong leadership skills, able to effectively get along with multiple internal and external partners.

Proven ability to balance multiple assignments with challenging priorities.

Strong partnership skills, with demonstrated ability to co-create solutions with other organizations.

Understanding of the Studio Feasibility Checkpoint and K-Loops process and deliverables.

Familiarity with FNV3/FNV4 architecture a plus.
