Your Role: System and Board Design Engineer
We’re hiring development engineers (m/f/x) to join our System and Board Design team starting January 1 2026 . As part of the Electronic Packaging group you’ll help design high-performance mainboards and PCB cards for IBM’s flagship platforms.
Key Areas of Work
- Logic & Physical Design : Develop and layout complex digital and analog circuits.
- Signal Integrity: Modeling and simulation of high-frequency signals across boards and systems. Definition of design rules and materials.
- Power Integrity : Ensure stable power distribution and switching stability on complex boards
- Module Design : Create single and multi-chip modules for IBM processors.
- Automation : Improve workflows tools and measurement methods.
- Failure Analysis : Support hardware bring-up prototype validation and issue resolution.

Your Profile
We’re looking for candidates with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. Ideally you have:
- A Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering Computer Science Physics or similar
- Knowledge of signal and power integrity and circuit design (digital & analog)
- Familiarity with PCB technologies and materials
- Programming skills (preferably Python)
- Experience with PCB tools (e.g. Cadence Synopsys Mentor Graphics Altium Eagle)
- Strong self-motivation and team spirit
- Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus)
