IBM seeks to hire a Systems Services Representative in the San Jose/San Francisco Bay Area . This role is for an individual contributor responsible for on-site installation maintenance and repair of IBM and Multi-Vendor systems and components including hardware networking software and operating systems in a consumer commercial or data center environment.
This is a Long Term Supplemental position with a 2- year expected term. There is no guarantee or representation being made that there will be full time regular positions available to be applied to during or at the end of the term.
- Support and maintain IBM zSeries Servers IBM Power Servers IBM Storage Products Apple Macbooks Lexmark Printers Multi-Vendor Intel Servers and Networking and Storage products.
- Serve as the primary technical interface to clients for coordinating hardware/software support and delivering operational services.
- Advise clients on preventive maintenance configuration operation and environmental factors affecting system performance.
- Perform services such as system assurance systems-level problem determination system discontinuance and relocation of IBM and non-IBM systems.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through effective service delivery and technical support.
- Act as the IBM technical lead during critical situations managing resolution until completion.
- Must successfully pass an in-depth background verification check to access certain client facilities. Failure to clear this process may result in dismissal.
While the position is primarily M-F 8-5 the candidate needs to be flexible with his scheduling to be able to handle occasional standby overtime or reschedules for weekend or evening work.
Prefer prior experience in a customer facing field service role.
Product training is provided either via the web or go away classes.
