POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a unique opportunity for a technical professional to work as a Systems Engineer with a strong desire to continually learn new skills and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology projects. You'll be working with HPC technology and the most renowned creative crews in the industry in a fast-paced performance-driven environment. 

MAIN DUTIES:

In this role, you will provide helpdesk/technical support and troubleshoot system issues, including hardware, software, server, and networking components. You will perform routine system and server administration, configuration, and maintenance tasks such as updates, upgrades, and system backups. You will help to deploy systems to small or large-scale environments. Additional duties include:

• Assist in setting up physical and virtual systems and servers and be able to perform racking, cabling etc. on site or at a remote location.
• Assist in system and server configuration, networking, and deployment, and ensure adherence to common standards and best practices.
• Assist with creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Coordinate and liaise with vendors, clients, and system operators to deliver top-notch troubleshooting services.
• Effective collaboration and clear lines of communication during interactions between local and global teams and team members.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The ideal candidate will bring Linux (CentOS), MacOS, and Windows Operating system knowledge. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills and bring the ability to reproduce and escalate issues. Implementing root cause analysis to identify and correct system faults. In addition, they must be able to travel to/from customer facilities and end-user locations for system deployments and configuration. Additional desired skills include:

• Ability to learn and work with basic video/audio and perform color calibration for monitors with basic image science concepts.
• Prior experience working as a Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer in a professional or IT Helpdesk Support role is an asset.
• Postproduction exposure is an asset.
