Systems Engineer

Job Description

LS Technologies is seeking a UAS Systems Engineer who will support the establishment of an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program management office within AJM-1, require participation and coordination with the UAS integration office, and support the development of command and control concepts, requirements, and business case studies. The goal of this program is to support the integration of UAS into the NAS. The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to efforts to institutionalize UAS use throughout the NAS, including integration, transition, remediation and implementation. The candidate will conduct comprehensive system-wide reviews and analyses of all aspects of the NAS development life cycle

Responsibilities

• Implement test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans.
• Prepare design documents and presentations. Clearly describe the design, including rationale for decisions and implications of decisions.
• Apply senior level engineering knowledge and systems analysis concepts and techniques to develop and apply solutions to engineering, scientific, or management problems.
• Develop and execute test and evaluation plans, procedures, and reports, and evaluates and recommends designs and/or alternative approaches to design that provide the optimum solution while balancing specific project needs at various life-cycle stages.
• Use scientific and engineering logic to independently identify conceptual or theoretical solutions to computer hardware, software, network, system design, and operational requirements.
• May apply engineering principles to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management and quality assurance testing.
• Skills above may also be utilized to perform advanced hardware and software information technology assessment, design, and implementation.

Requirements

• Applicant must possess or meet eligibility requirements for passing a background check.
• 0-6 years of engineering experience
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel.
• Must have the knowledge and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of and identify new task or adjust existing task and expectations as the project evolves.
• Must have proven social and interpersonal skills to coordinate with a team of professionals who are both technical and non-technical to keep everyone on task and progressing forward, also ensure the team maintains a positive and collaborative relationship with external stakeholders.
• Excellent writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform detailed work with little guidance and interact in a positive manner with other government and industry personnel.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Computer) required.
