Job Description:Â
WideOrbit is looking for an exceptional Tax & Accounting Lead to join our rapidly growing finance team. This role will report to our Senior Director of Accounting. In this key position, the Tax & Accounting Lead will be responsible for all sales and use tax matters and assist in all areas of income tax and other indirect tax, including income tax provision, compliance and reporting, audits and research. The ideal candidate will will also assist with identifying and implementing systems and process improvements and other special projects as needed. Lastly, this candidate will assist in the month-end close process. If you have strong tax experience and are interested in tax research and finding creative process solutions, this may be the role for you!
Here is what success will look like:
- Manage the sales and use tax function and WHT
- Review multi-state sales and use tax and property tax returns; lead indirect tax audits
- Prepare monthly tax reconciliation of sales and use tax transaction data
- Manage outside service provider and review other tax-related filings including business licenses and business registrations
- Prepare quarterly tax provision, update model and provide JEs
- Manage quarterly estimated tax payments process with Lumine’s tax team and coordinate payments internally
- Tax research; provide technical tax guidance and support
- Prepare monthly tax account reconciliations
- Tax special projects, including managing Sec. 382 study and R&D credit study
- Work closely with Lumine’s tax team and provide support as needed
- Support GL team with month end close- various journal entries, analysis of accounts, monitoring the close calendar ensuring all activities are closed according to the deadlines
- Manage the Trial Balance between Nexus and Great Plain including uploading journal entries, update mapping file and creating new accounts
- Provide support for year-end audit functions
To thrive in this role, we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax and/or finance
- 8+ years tax experience, including indirect tax
- Experience with accounting policies and procedures
- Proficient in performing tax research and recommending solutions to issues
- Advanced experience working with excel and other MS office suite of products
- Experience with Avalara tax software and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Exceptional communicator, with a passion for organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to be consultative, persuasive and diplomatic
- Able to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders by using a consultative communication style
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and flexible to change
Location:
This position will be based in our San Francisco office. Remote/Telecommute will also be considered.
Pay Range:
$100,000 - $140,000
Compensation:
The compensation range listed, and general description of other compensation and benefits will apply to this position. Â Various factors are considered to determine compensation ranges including market data, location, experience, qualifications, and skills.
