Tax & Audit Accountant

We are partnered with a full service Tax, Accounting and Planning Firm located in New York, NY seeking a Tax & Audit Accountant to join their team. As a key player in their firm, you'll leverage your expertise in tax and audit to deliver exceptional client service and drive business growth. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review tax returns, including corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and tax-exempt entity returns • Manage payroll tax preparation, review, and compliance • Analyze and reconcile client financial records to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement • Respond to tax authority inquiries and represent clients in audits and examinations • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize client liability and maximize benefits • Compile, review, and audit financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, helping them develop their skills and expertise • Conduct in-depth research on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide expert guidance to clients • Identify opportunities to provide additional services and drive business growth Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in tax and audit • Advanced knowledge of tax accounting principles, laws, and regulations, including federal and state tax returns • Proven experience conducting external audits for a variety of clients, including non-profit and for-profit organizations • Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and MS Office, with experience in CCH Access a plus • CPA license preferred or CPA candidate who has passed the Uniform CPA Examination and is actively pursuing licensure #CarlyC Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
