About the Role This is a rare opportunity tobuild a tax practice from the ground upwith the full support of an established, forward-thinking accounting firm. You’ll be responsible for preparing and reviewing returns, advising clients, developing systems and processes, and helping shape the tax service line’s strategic direction. Because this is a new venture, you’ll be hands-on at first — leading both preparation and review work — while also creating the foundation for future leverage and growth. Over time, you’ll build and mentor a team, establish scalable workflows, andlead both the vision and execution of the tax practice as it grows. Essential Functions • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. • Provide proactive tax planning and strategy to optimize client outcomes. • Build strong client relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and professional excellence. • Collaborate with firm leadership to establish systems, processes, and technology tools that drive efficiency. • Identify and pursue new client opportunities to grow the tax practice. • Mentor and develop staff as the practice expands, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork. • Stay current on changing tax regulations and professional developments. Required Qualifications • 6+ years of recent public accounting tax experience(must include current or very recent experience). • Broad experience with individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation returns. • CPA license required;Master’s in Taxation is a plus. • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, meet deadlines, and work independently. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. • Entrepreneurial mindset — motivated to build, grow, and lead.
