The Tax Summer Intern will be a key member of our Tax Department, which is responsible for all tax-related items required by each jurisdiction. The department works on various tax types, including income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax. RWECE is owned by a German parent company, which requires additional factors and filings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing work papers and schedules for income tax returns.
  • Assist with preparing required foreign informational forms, including but not limited to Form 5472, "Information Return of a 25% Foreign-Owned U.S. Corporation or a Foreign Corporation Engaged in a U.S. Trade or Business."
  • Help with the quarterly provision process through the Global Tax Center.
  • Support partnership reporting requirements related to tax credits and transferability.
  • Prepare spreadsheets to assist in sales, use tax filings, and perform various other compliance activities.
  • Responsible for the preparation of tax exemption certificates.
  • Help with property tax matters, including valuation comparison between years

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited US university program, pursuing an undergraduate in Accounting
  • Understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Responds well to direction, quickly challenges and develops, and is coachable.

This is a full-time, 12-week summer internship starting the first week of June in our Chicago, IL office.

Pay range: The base hourly range for this position in Illinois for undergraduates is $25.00-$35.00 an hour, and for graduates is $30.00--$40.00. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
