Professional License Requirements:
Applicants are required to have the following, legally mandated certifications. Applicants without these requirements will not be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for Visually Impaired PK-12
What to Expect from This Role:
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ functional vision and educational needs
• Evaluate the impact of visual impairment on academic and social-emotional development
• Administer various assessment tools and document findings
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and related service providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to evaluation reports
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Recommend and support use of assistive technologies
• Ensure proper documentation, compliance with state/federal guidelines, and timely submission of reports
• Foster strong relationships with students, families, and school staff
• Perform all other duties related to special education as required
