Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Responsible for consistently delivering on aggressive growth and profitability targets within their assigned region in order to position KNX as the best-in-class, asset based, 3PL. Provide leadership to team of transportation analysts as they buy and sell freight in a dynamic environment. Align the group for rapid and profitable growth through training, development and coaching. Build and optimize the use of carrier partner relationships, alliance partnerships and other relations to deliver the most compelling short and long-term customer value propositions and efficient means of moving our customer's freight.
- Create and provide brokerage solutions for high-level complex freight conditions.
- Develop key carriers through increased volume, profitability and service offerings.
- Address escalated, highly complex carrier issues; provide problem resolution and deliver win-win solutions that ensure carrier satisfaction.
- Monitor team 's hourly refusal/acceptance of VIP load board from asset division.
- Facilitate route optimization and increase usage of key carriers.
- Monitor buy vs DAT, daily load count, loads per carrier/buyer, outbound calls, margins and fuel metrics.
- Build carriers through identification of continuous moves, drop trailer and backhaul opportunities.
- Oversight of negotiations of rates and terms.
- Promotes strong communication with Team and follow ups, to grow existing carrier base and reduce 'new carriers' through outbound calls and reduction of DAT Posts. Hold designated brokerage teams accountable for delivering on customer-focus expectations.
- Maintain focus on Key Performance Indicators, reports, metrics and methods for ongoing measurement of customer performance and departmental success. Embrace the use of Swift's business improvement tools and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which reflects Swift's mission and values and facilitates the success of business unit in order to meet company expectations. Present a quality oriented image where the carrier and Swift's operations are treated in a consistent, professional, courteous and efficient manner, so that the impression is one of excellence.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership; perform site and carrier visits as necessary, which may require travel.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- Four (4) years' industry experience, inclusive of a combination of brokerage and working in Third Party Logistics (3PL) environment and sales/service experience required.
- One (1) year experience in obtaining, retaining, growing a team and brokerage book of business required.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in business or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Report generation
- Mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interpret user needs and translate into system requirements.
- Ability to understand system data and to identify discrepancies
- Previous knowledge of system analytics helpful
