Technical Animator

Splitgate is a free to play, fast-paced sci-fi multiplayer shooter that combines the strategic elements of portals with the explosive gameplay of a first person shooter. We quickly became a top trending game on PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam. In our first 6 days, we passed 1M downloads, and hit 2M within the first two weeks. We’re now at 15M+ downloads and growing. • Create, edit, and improve existing rigs for both first and third person 
• Integrate animation content created in Blender and/or Maya into Unreal Engine.
• Work with animators, tech artists, and engineers to define, create, maintain, and streamline the animation/asset pipeline.
• Develop new techniques and processes to solve character/weapon production challenges
• Collaborate with the Tech Art Team developing tools that support the animation pipeline
• Provide technical support for the animation team helping to resolve technical issues
• Setup AnimGraphs & animation blueprints with performance and blend quality in mind

• 5+ years of production experience of technical animation in Games + Feature Film or VFX
• Experience creating high quality animation rigs for both characters and weapons
• Strong understanding of animation pipelines, including source content creation tools such as Blender/Maya and the export process into Unreal Engine
• Experience working with animators, designers, and engineers to ensure the animation pipeline operates smoothly and efficiently
• Proven knowledge of scripting (MEL, python or C#)
• Passion for FPS games

• Minimum of 1 shipped AAA game
  
• In-depth knowledge of Blender and Maya
• Unreal Engine experience especially in animation blueprints and AnimGraphs
• Good communication skills and experience leading technical teams from the trenches
