For our Connection System Business Unit, we are looking to hire a strong Application Engineer for our office in Wolfsburg!

Your role:

The incumbent is responsible for:

• Handling of product inquiries by the customer:
  
  
  • The AE checks whether requested products or similar are already available or whether they need to be developed
  • Documentation of all inquiry details (timing, volume, technical etc.) in application sheet and discussion with sales account manager in Start Center

• Change Management:
  
  
  • Create PCRs according to PCR guideline (timing, drawing revisions, drawing deviations) in close cooperation with Sales, Aptiv plant and the customer considering internal and customer requirements. Usage of F3x database.

• Product Engineering:
  
  
  • AE and CS sales Account Manager together build the interface for project details towards the customer during the whole development process
  • Ensure that internal and customer requirements are understood and realized
  • Discuss deviations directly with customer and get customer's approval
  • Create test matrix, arrange product tests and assess test results in cooperation with customer and internal laboratory and Product Engineering
  • Support of acquisition of test samples
  • Develop a test- and validation plan according to project timing
  • AE is involved in handling of approvals for Aptiv products at the customer; aim is to get approval for all design phases by the customer

• Communication:
  
  
  • Adjust project in line with product development process (PDP) and in line with available tools like Bill of Design (BOD), DFMEA, systematic problem-solving process, competitor analysis and PCR process in close cooperation with Aptiv plants' development dep. and the customer

• Prototype Support:
  
  
  • Ensure support for customer's serial / prototype line in his/her specific field of responsibility

Your background:

• Engineering degree (preferably mechanical or electrical engineering)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Application Engineer, ideally in the automotive sector
• Proficient in German and English language (spoken and written)
• Good skills in MS Office & MS Project
• Good presentation skills
