Technical Architect

About the Role:

As our Technical Architect, you will join our engineering team that is responsible for design and development of a massively scaled, cloud-native P2P platform.

You will play a key role in designing the structure of our systems, and we will count on you to oversee programs to ensure the proper architecture is implemented.

In this role, you should be an excellent communicator who is able to translate complex requirements into functional architecture. We’d also like you to have hands-on experience on software development and be able to manage complex program

Your goal will be to ensure our platform is well-integrated and operates properly, while considering the end-user experience and platform usability.

This position is not fully remote and will require you to be in the office at least 2x/week (1384 Broadway, New York, NY 10018)

The base annual salary range for this role is $160,000-250,000.  

We cannot offer any visa/work authorization sponsorship at this time.

Job Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the design and development of a massively scaled, cloud native P2P platform by connecting with stakeholders to determine the company’s current and future needs.
• Contribute to Blockgraph's long-term tech strategy and design/coding standards.
• Take part in technology selection process, run POCs and contribute to coding.
• Communicating with developers to discuss the system software needs.
• Design complex application and infrastructure components of the platform to meet business requirements
• Actively contribute towards design reviews and code reviews
• Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve the performance, availability, scalability and monitoring of the platform.
• Mentoring a team of highly skilled technical team.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or similar field of study
• At least 5 years’ experience building micro-service applications in AWS (or a similar cloud technology)
• At least 5 years’ experience as a system architect, project manager, equivalent position
• At least 3 years’ experience in system/platform design and contributing to technical strategy  
• Extensive hands-on experience in software development
• Advanced knowledge of Linux -based systems
• A working knowledge of Docker container technology and container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with various software design patterns
• Direct experience in developing and/or improving UI/UX
• Ability to lead and motivate a cross-functional team (i.e., Product, Developers, DevOps, etc.)
• Experience in Java, Golang
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL (aerospike, mobodb, Cassandra, dynamo) Databases
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 Additional Skills (Nice to have)

• Experience in streaming technologies like kafka/kinesis
• Experience in data structures and algorithms
• Experience in designing data pipelines
• Experience in Network architecture
• Experience in CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience in security with a focus on cryptography, encryption and data protection.
• Experience, interest or industry knowledge of advertising technology e.g. ad servers, SSPs, DSPs, DMPs etc.
