Technical Program Manager - Data Platform

As a member of the R&D team reporting to the Director of Product Management for our Data business unit the Technical Program Manager Data Platform is critical in driving the success of these efforts. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional projects that ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data solutions and will be instrumental in helping Shippo streamline its data infrastructure fostering a self-service analytics culture.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of product management engineering data science and business operations ensuring our data strategy aligns with and accelerates Shippo’s mission to be the shipping layer of the internet.

Shipping & handling responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects ensuring alignment between R&D finance and go-to-market (GTM) teams to deliver on roadmap objectives

• Manage and prioritize the execution of strategic initiatives such as data infrastructure modernization centralized data ingestion pipelines and self-service reporting tools

• Drive the adoption of scalable reusable solutions across the organization fostering a culture of data democratization

• Establish and maintain program-level documentation including project plans timelines risk assessments and status reports for stakeholders

• Partner with engineering to implement data governance frameworks improve data reliability and enhance observability across the platform

• Act as the primary point of contact for key internal customers ensuring their data needs are met effectively and efficiently

• Develop metrics to measure project success iterate on process improvements and ensure continuous alignment with strategic business goals

Do you tick the boxes?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field; or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager Product Manager or similar role in data analytics or software engineering

• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects from concept to delivery including coordinating across teams and managing dependencies

• Strong understanding of modern data platforms pipelines and analytics tools including familiarity with technologies like Databricks Kafka or Looker

• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences

• Demonstrated experience with agile methodologies and program management tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence)

Bonus

• Experience scaling data platforms for growth-stage businesses

• Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements

• Hands-on experience with curated datasets or customer-facing data products

• Background in software or data engineering is a strong plus
