Technical UI Designer

What You'll Do

Mob Entertainment is looking for an experienced Technical UI Designer to work on our future projects. As part of this role, you will collaborate with UI designers and UI engineers, implementing UI designs, screens, and animations in Unreal Engine and building rapid prototypes and layouts. In this position, you should feel comfortable working on various UI content and systems, from menus to HUDs and more, utilizing best UI implementation practices.

In this role you will:

• Implement static and animated user interfaces, develop, and optimize UI content in Unreal Engine using UMG Designer and Blueprint.
• Collaborate with UI engineers and technical designers to define technical requirements, design widget structures, and more.
• Create and maintain UI layouts utilizing appropriate widget structures with modularity in mind.

• Communicate and collaborate with UI designers to make sure the implemented UI is in line with the art direction and with the players best interests in mind.
• Take into account future console porting considerations and localization needs.
• Ensure our UI is optimal with continued iteration and development.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting is required.
• Knowledge of UMG implementation industry standards is a major plus.
• 1-3 years in video games or a similar industry, working on a technical UI position.
• A strong eye for quality and are always seeking to improve.
• Desire to solve problems and ability to think both technically and artistically, considering accessibility and optimization in your work.
• A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Ability to analyze and solve technical and design problems.
• Experience building complex real-time user interfaces.
• Ability to iterate & collaborate under deadlines & production constraints.
• In-Engine UI Materials knowledge is a major plus.
• Common UI plugin knowledge is a major plus.
