Your Role and Responsibilities
  • A Technology Sales Engineer role (what we internally call a ‘Brand Technical Specialist’) in the Midwest Region within Automation and Application Modernization means working for a leader in AI-Powered products. Your roles & responsibilities:
  • As a Brand Technical Specialist in the Midwest Region you’ll work closely with clients to develop relationships understand their needs earn their trust and show them how IBM’s industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Client Strategy Development: Create strategic plans for clients focusing on infrastructure applications and automation solutions.
  • IBM Automation and Application Modernization Solution Design: Define practical IBM Automation and Application Modernization solutions that enhance existing technology stacks.
  • Proof of Concept Delivery: Provide proof of concepts and simplifying technical concepts to ensure client comprehension.
  • Building Credibility and Trust: Establish credibility and trust with clients which is essential for closing complex technology deals.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Technical experience with Application Modernization/Integration Software or equivalent.
  • Possesses both architect and/or hands-on technical skills.
  • Ability to identify and envision opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively showcase and demonstrate solutions/technologies in a customer facing scenario.
  • Work with less-Senior professionals and mentor them in the Integration solutions.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Specific solution experience in the Application Modernization/Integration portfolio.
  • Red Hat OpenShift experience accreditation or certification.
  • Foundational knowledge of Apache Kafka and/or the Confluent Kafka platform.
  • Foundational knowledge of industry standard Dev/Sec/Ops best practices and tooling.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical role Enterprise Tech Sales Consulting Services or
  • equivalent.
  • Experienced level industry knowledge. Examples would include but are not limited to the following: Financial
  • Services Public Sector
  • Ability to articulate business models and value of our offerings.
  • WebSphere/Liberty portfolio or Other Cloud Paks etc.
