JOB • THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY (UP TO 40 HOURS) WITH LIMITED BENEFITS. (Please see Benefits tab for additional information.) No Qualified Candidate Pool (QCP) will be established. You will only be contacted if there is an interest from the hiring department.*This Project Manager position will be assigned to Metro's Physical Security unit and will be assigned to Metro's Emergency and Security Operations Center (ESOC), and be responsible to develop, manage, and administer all aspects of a project and ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. This position will be responsible for contributing to and managing radio and telecommunication projects, systems, and devices.EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Manages various aspects of a project which may include finances, research, design, technical support, schedules, budget compliance, planning, and agency reporting Oversees the development of project specifications and requirement Manages a project's scheduling, prioritization of work, budget development, monitoring, planning, and reporting Reviews, analyzes, and interprets contract specifications and scope of work documents of a project to ensure conformance with requirements, regulations, codes, policies, procedures and plans Reviews, analyzes, and monitors actual project performance to ensure conformance with scope, schedule, and budget Attends progress meetings with members of the project team to report on status Identifies problems and recommends resolutions to budget, cost, and schedule-related activities Prepares reports for management Participates in project outreach Coordinates with various stakeholders Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency's safety vision and goals; and maintains accountability for the safety performance of all subordinate employees Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of Metro are carried out May be required to perform other related job duties SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Knowledge of (defined as a learned body of information that is required for and applied in the performance of job tasks)Theories, principles, and practices of project managementApplicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulationsContract administrationApplicable business software applicationsLocal, state, and federal issues, including but not limited to labor, business, and environmental issuesSkill in (defined as the proficient manual, verbal, or mental utilization of data, people, or things)Exercising judgment and creativity in making decisionsInteracting professionally with various levels employees and outside representativesCommunicating effectively orally and in writingAnalyzing situations and identifying problemsPreparing comprehensive reports and correspondenceAbility to (defined as a present competence to perform an observable behavior or produce an observable result)Provide assistance in monitoring multiple projects to ensure compliance with schedule and budgetUnderstand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, budgets, and labor/management agreementsRecommend action plans, report on progress, review and comment on contract required documents, and respond to requests from executive managementCompile, analyze, and interpret complex dataNegotiate contract termsDetermine strategies to achieve goalsRead, write, speak, and understand EnglishSpecial ConditionsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
