Job Description
The Tennis Center Front Desk Staff is the first point of contact for members, guests, and program participants. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing front desk operations, supporting program registration, and maintaining a welcoming and organized environment at the Tennis Center.
Work Schedule
This position requires availability onweekday evenings and weekends. Flexibility to work special events or cover additional shifts is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service & Front Desk Operations
• Greet and assist members, guests, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
• Provide information about court availability, lessons, programs, and events.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and courteous way.
• Check in members and ensure proper access to the facility.
• Promote and support a positive, customer-focused experience for all guests.
Administrative & Sales Support
• Assist with scheduling court time and tennis lessons.
• Process program registrations, payments, and point-of-sale transactions.
• Maintain and update member accounts using designated software systems.
• Support communication efforts including flyers, bulletin boards, and event announcements.
• Help manage pro shop sales, including merchandise and tennis ball inventory.
Facility Oversight
• Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and surrounding areas.
• Communicate any facility maintenance needs or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure court schedules and reservations are accurate and up-to-date.
• Assist with set-up and coordination during special events and tournaments as needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in customer service or a recreational/sports setting preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, scheduling software).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (e.g., moving supplies or equipment).
• Able to work indoors and outdoors depending on shift or event needs.
