Role Summary

Rhombus Energy Solutions (A BorgWarner Company) has an opportunity for an experienced and skilled Test Engineer to join our team at our San Diego, CA to create, maintain and execute test procedures for our engineering and current product teams. As a test engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing the product features, designing test procedures, creating customized quality checks, and writing up final test procedures for the test and quality technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Meeting with the product design team to determine product testing parameters.
• Writing test plans and creating test cases for the product.
• Conducting quality assurance and designing performance tests using the new testing procedures.
• Troubleshooting any errors and streamlining the testing procedures on our product.
• Troubleshoot PCBs to the component level
• Writing up the final QA and test procedures for the test and quality technicians.
• Training the test department staff and providing technical support when needed.
• Ensuring all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
• Preparing test reports for management.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum 5 years work experience as a test engineer
• High voltage: 2+ years (Required)
• follow prints, diagrams, engineering drawings: 5 years (Required)
• Familiarity with testing tools including TestStand, and LabVIEW
• Knowledge of diagramming software including Microsoft Viso
• Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box
• High-level technical writing skill and debugging experience
• Knowledge of Lab bench skills including solder rework/repair
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• System testing: 5 years
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to read electrical schematics and identify on embedded system.
• Knowledge of UL standards and test procedures
• Familiarity with testing tools including TestStand, and LabVIEW
