Test Technician

We are looking for a Test Technician to join our Technology team, supporting the testing and operations of DAC equipment and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support Test Engineers in the development, build, and commissioning of test systems and prototypes 
• Interpret test electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and diagrams to successfully construct test systems 
• Execute tests based on written and verbal engineering direction 
• Perform maintenance on prototypes and test setups 
• Assist in managing inventory and maintenance of test equipment and instrumentation 
• Perform pressure testing with compressed gases (e.g. Nitrogen and Helium) and vacuum pumps 
• Perform testing at temperature ranges above and below ambient 
• Read, interpret, and accurately record test data 
• Handle and operate test lab equipment including compressed gas cylinders 

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience 
• Experience interpreting, preparing, following, and executing test procedures from written instructions with high levels of attention to detail 
• Experience in building and troubleshooting test fixtures including sensors, electrical and electromechanical actuators, power supplies, and custom electrical harnessing 
• Hands-on mechanical fabrication and assembly skills, including proper use of hand and power tools 
• Familiarity with a variety of fluid process connections and fittings (e.g. NPT, Swagelok, barb, push-to-connect, AN, flange, etc.) 
• Understanding the functions and safe operation of valves, regulators, actuators, and pumps 
• Literacy in fluid schematics/P&IDs 
• Electrical assembly experience, including crimping, cable routing, connector assembly, and basic troubleshooting using a multimeter 
• Self-driven, highly motivated, committed to improvement, inter-team communication skills, high attention to detail, and willingness to learn 
• Physically able to handle equipment weighing up to 50lbs 

Desirable experiences:

• Associate’s degree in technical field or comparable education 
• Experience in the fields of renewable energy and/or chemical processes 
• Experience with leak and pressure testing 
• Competence working with stainless-steel tubing, including cutting, bending and flaring 
• Literacy in electrical schematics and diagrams 
• Experience with soldering 
• Experience with hazardous fluid testing (e.g. cryogenic)
