Trading IT Business Analyst
Location: Houston, Texas, United States
Uniper seeks a Trading IT Business Analyst to join its North American team!
Your responsibilities
The Business Analyst will work as a member of the IT team in North America providing day to day direction and leadership across the analytical community, as well as acting as a recognized subject matter expert regarding the Energy industry and the applications used within Uniper Global Commodities North America (UGCNA). The candidate will play a key role in supporting the Trading business users, be expected to interface with various groups within Uniper, and manage projects from inception to completion and be an integral part of the implementation.
Further responsibilities may include:
β’ Identify issues and opportunities to proactively help deliver value added solutions to the business
β’ Analyze requirements and data from various groups within Uniper and transform into improved solutions
β’ Prepare cost estimates and project timelines for completing recommended solutions
β’ Own technical approach, plan and delivery for changes of all sizes
β’ Actively identify, report, promote, own and implement system improvement ideas
β’ Play a key role in building a partnership with the business and key stakeholders
β’ Act as a technical leader by utilising expert knowledge and understanding of Trading applications and technologies to provide a tactical and strategic vision aligned with other Uniper IT teamsYour profile
β’ Bachelorβs or equivalent degree or higher
β’ Experience in the Energy Trading industry
β’ Must have extensive experience working with ION Openlink Endur; ideally experience with other Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems such as Triple Point Commodity XL, as well
β’ Demonstratable knowledge of Trading, Scheduling, Settlements, MTM, Exposure and PNL reporting
β’ In-depth knowledge of a variety of development techniques and standards, including but not limited to: ITIL processes, Project Management, and Agile Project Management/Development methods
β’ Have successfully worked on a broad range of functional systems in one or more of the following areas: SQL Databases, Data Warehouses, client/server development in C#, .NET, , Javascript, Python, Kafka, Power BI, Azure
β’ Experience with developing, forecasting and working within budgets
β’ Good communication skills, self-starter, critical thinker, able to operate with autonomy
