Job Description
Boulder Scientific Company (BSC) is headquartered in Mead, CO, and is a premier provider of organometallic compounds and other specialty chemicals used in a wide range of applications. BSC is a pioneer and leading manufacturer of metallocene catalysts and co-catalysts that are primarily used to produce metallocene polyethylene, polypropylene and elastomers, but also supplies products into Electronics, Pharmaceutical and Defense applications. BSC operates two sites in Northern Colorado, which include: a main production facility in Mead and a second facility in Longmont. BSC has continuously grown the sales of its products to existing and new customers and expects to continue on a high growth trajectory.

BSC is seeking a Training and Communications Specialist to support Training and Communications within the HR department. The Training and Communications Specialist will work with business leaders and their teams to build and support a training plan and curriculum. The Training and Communications Specialist will also work with leaders to support communications efforts within the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess the training needs within the organization
- Maintain the company-wide training matrix
- Develop and deliver a “Management 101” training program for front-line leaders
- Ensure that training sessions are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of participants
- Co-manage training content in the Learning Management System
- Manage completion of training in the Learning Management System
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of training programs
- Develop a communication strategy and templates, integrating the Company’s mission, vision, strategy and core values where appropriate
- Draft employee communications, ensuring high quality and consistent messaging
- Serve as an expert on communications to ensure the proper and appropriate use of language, imagery, branding and design across all communication channels
- Play a key role in developing the Company’s brand and value proposition for candidates and employees
- Assist with social media postings to LinkedIn and Facebook, as well as employer responses to comments on GlassDoor and Indeed
- Participate as an active member of the cross-functional Communications team
- Develop and manage a quarterly newsletter
- Travel between BSC’s Mead and Longmont sites as needed
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related program preferred, with a BA/BS degree in Adult Education strongly preferred
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a training development and delivery role for Professional, Technical, and Technician-level employees
Experience
- Experience in developing training curriculum or programs
- Experience in employee communications strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of employees
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage timelines and schedules
- Experience managing confidential information
- Attention to detail
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or in a shift schedule environment is a plus
Work Environment
This position will involve extended keyboarding time. Position requires that employee be able to move about a multi-building campus, filing and storage rooms, and between the Mead and Longmont sites. Our campus is a manufacturing site with laboratory facilities; therefore, occasional use of PPE will be required.
