As the Training Specialist, you will Mentor all new employees within their 90-day training period. Your responsibilities in this career include training and onboarding new hires and ensuring they understand all warehouse operations and safety regulations. You must teach each new hire what is required, how to achieve performance requirements, and how to know standard operating procedures (SOP). Other duties include providing overall training plan feedback, coordinating with the training supervisor and trainees, auditing the training process, updating the curriculum as needed, and retraining workers still within their training period. You demonstrate power equipment use and certify workers to drive forklifts. You are expected to track new employee performance and monitor their progress while keeping their Supervisor updated.
What you'll do
- Coordination of all training programs within the DC, including checklists, system updates, completion of programs
- Partner with Talent & Culture, Quality, Systems/IT, and other departments in order to attain knowledge in all needed areas of training
- Coordination of annual NSF audit needs for training
- Partner with DC Supervisors to ensure accuracy in associate needs when addressing productivity concerns, as this role is trainer-specific
- Alignment of all training to be consistent across the Distribution Centers
- Weekly updates to the Supervisor for feedback on training needs for associates’ success
- Must be able to adjust scheduled shift start/end times as needed to support training needs

- Creative and innovative thinking, which enables the employee trainer to keep things fresh to hold trainees’ attention and also improvise on their teaching style
- Excellent presentation skills to present and handle training programs effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to understand problems, convey ideas, and conduct training
- Previous training experience preferred/not required - be able to determine the correct training path for an individual.
- Experience with various software programs, computers, team building, and successful team improvement
