Summary
This position is located on the Schenck Job Corps Center in Pisgah Forest, NC.
Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the Career Preparation Period (CPP) plan; providing guidance and instruction to new students during their orientation period and coordinating vocational exploration.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-6: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as two or more of the following: working with young adults while providing basic guidance and instruction for vocational/career exploration, goal-setting, and promoting the development of positive social skills; assisted in the development, instruction, and/or testing of vocational and/or academic courses; or served in a developmental/training capacity in a counseling, social work, or teaching field that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of this position.
For the GS-7: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: participating with training specialists and subject matter experts in the development of Programs of Instruction; providing instruction using required materials and curriculum; providing advice and guidance to students on goal-setting, personal problem areas and educational and career development goals; and maintaining and routing course materials and training records.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
