Transportation Engineer-Project Manager

Job Overview Mendez Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Project Manager to play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation in Central Texas! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the Public Works and/or TxDOT projects. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a keen understanding of construction processes and contract management. Responsibilities • Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. • Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment, and information. • Develop comprehensive project plans that align with client expectations and project goals. • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations. • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met. • Prepare and review contracts, ensuring all terms are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. • Utilize construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid to prepare accurate cost assessments. • Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, including schematics and reports for stakeholders. • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project execution. Qualifications • Proven experience in project management or coordination within the construction industry. • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. • Proficiency in software AutoCAD or MicroStation. • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure. • Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams. • TxDOT Pre-certifications preferred but not required.
