- Job Details
- The Registered Nurse (RN) monitors, assesses, and evaluates patient conditions, providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
- Key responsibilities include monitoring maternal and fetal health, assisting with labor management, offering patient education, supporting the delivery process, and providing postpartum care.
- The RN works closely with the healthcare team, including OB residents and attendings to ensure patient safety, documents care accurately, and responds to emergencies as needed.
- L&D RNs must be adaptable to different facility settings, policies, and shifts while maintaining high clinical standards.
- Job Requirements
- At least two years of experience of high risk Labor and Delivery nursing
- RN licensure for the State of Georgia or multi-state compact license
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
- Schedule Information
- 12 hour shifts, 0700-1930 and 1900-0730
- No call required
- Weekends are required
- Unit Specific Information
- Completion of a three day preceptor based Labor and Delivery specific orientation.
- L&D specific computer modules as well as Accucheck competency.
- Orientation competency checklist will be completed.
