  • Job Summary: This position is for the Advanced Care Unit (ACU) at Camden Clark Medical Center, specializing in stroke, trauma, and vascular care.
  • Unit: ACU - Advanced Care Unit (Stepdown)
  • Number of beds: 30-Beds - All private rooms
  • Patient Ratios: 1 to 4
  • Common Diagnoses: Fempops, Carotids, DKA, AKA, post caths with TR Bands & femoral access.
    Job Requirements
  • Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are all required
  • Must have stepdown acuity experience with the types of patients on this unit
  • Ability to read strips is essential
  • Experience with titrating drips such as Cardizem, Insulin, & Heparin is required.
    Schedule Information
  • Shift Schedule: 0700-1930; 1900-0730
  • Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met; block scheduling is not guaranteed.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; Night shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun; Day shifts are Sat/Sun
  • Holiday Requirement: Perm staff have a holiday rotation schedule; travelers may be required to work weekends if needed.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit specific orientation includes the first day with HR, clinical educator, and shadowing for the rest of the day on the unit.
    Additional Details
  • All submittals must include an unexpired copy of the candidate's driver's license.
  • Charge Nurse available 24/7; may take patient assignments depending on unit needs.
  • 3 PCTs per shift with ratios of 1:10.
