  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's.
  • 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.
  • 2 years of unit experience.
    Job Requirements
  • 2 years of unit experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
    Schedule Information
  • 12 hour shifts: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every third.
  • Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff.
  • Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients.
    Unit Specific Information
  • 1 week of unit/department specific orientation.
  • Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way.
  • A nurse on this unit is successful if they are a team player, are flexible and adaptable, and have good communication skills.
  • Different cultural populations are served on this unit- primarily Hispanic and Somalian.
    Additional Details
  • WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED.
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure.
  • RNs required to titrate drips: Yes.
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin.
  • Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes, does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.
  • Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: Yes, 1:12.
  • RT Equipment: High flow, RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Yes.
