- This is a 5X8 40 HRS WEEK - OR CALL REQUIRED
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
- Knowledge of surgical principles and skills
- Recent (or previous) operating room experience preferred.
- Job Requirements
- BCLS Certification
- Current National Certified Surgical Technologist certification OR certification as Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
- Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
- Ability to operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa
- Ability to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties
- Demonstrates flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services
- Ability to stand/or for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients, cleaning equipment, and materials
- Ability to coordinate communication information for personnel, physicians, and patients
- Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy

- Unit Specific Information
- Unit specific competency exam required. Passing score required, must be completed within year of start updated annually.
- Additional Details
- AHA only - required for ALL nurses AHA RQI is acceptable
- Required by ALL travelers prior to start. Fully vaccinated (2 doses if applicable) Medical or Religious Exemptions approved on a case by case basis.
- Required for all patient facing positions.
