Truck Driver Class B Bobtail

Summary: This position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting produce inventory and customer deliveries from one location to another using bobtail trucks. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ● On a daily basis, loads/unloads and transports produce inventory and customer deliveries over land to and from company warehouse locations to other warehouse locations as well as to customer facilities, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary through the use of the Driver app on the company phone. ● As needed, sorts, picks, pulls, and sets up orders. ● On a daily basis, communicates regularly with dispatcher and receiver to understand and execute information about product transfers and deliveries. ● On a daily basis, inspects vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and performs preventative maintenance; reports service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor and/or manager. ● On a daily basis, plans and completes efficient trip deliveries and pick-up routes assigned through the system on the driver app. ● On a daily basis, documents and logs work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retains fuel/toll receipts in accordance with driver app trip stops. Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made. ● On a daily basis, complies with DOT commercial truck rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods). ● On a daily basis, maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions at the warehouse or customer delivery. ● On a daily basis, collects and verifies delivery instructions from dispatcher. ● On a daily basis, reports defects, accidents or violations. ● Per delivery, ensures temperatures are correct for specific products. ● Supports food safety program by ensuring a clean and tidy work area and vehicle. Includes sweeping and removal of debris, cardboard, and green waste throughout the work shift; cleaning curtains, racks, and emptying trash bins. At the end of the day, cleans up the warehouse, exterior area, and restrooms. At times, utilize Produce Pro Food Safety App to record inspection and any issues identified. ● Safely operate manual/electric pallet jacks and forklifts according to company and OSHA guidelines ● Attend required training, including but not limited to Operational, Safety, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and DOT. These trainings can take place in person or online. ● As needed, participate in the Company Safety Program Meetings. ● Performs other tasks assigned by Supervisor or Manager that are within the parameters of the job. ● Communicates with co-workers, management, sales, warehouse team, drivers, and others regarding purchases in a courteous and professional manner. ● Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. ●Reports any Food Safety or Quality Issue to the Transportation Supervisor and /Or Warehouse Manager. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not include any supervisory responsibility. Work Environment: This position operates primarily in open warehouse dock area subject to weather and outside elements as well as within the driving cab of a truck. On occasion, features of the working conditions include close quarters, climate-controlled vehicle cabins, refrigerated coolers, stairs, and some moisture on floors. This role regularly operates a truck, warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, walking jack, rider jack) as well as some office equipment (e.g., mobile telephone, telephones, calculator). Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move product 5- 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work is performed sitting in a moving and stationary vehicle as well as walking and standing. PositionType: This is a full-time position. Travel: Travel is required within the state of California using company vehicle. This position does not require any overnight travel.
