Description
The Truckload Account Specialist II, focused on small to medium-sized business (SMB), is responsible for the service, performance, and growth of an existing portfolio of customer accounts. These customers are companies with truckload transportation needs, and we collaborate with carrier partners to provide effective transportation solutions. In this position, you will utilize your expertise in freight management to identify truckload opportunities through effective quoting practices and commitment management. You will drive account strategy, seize growth opportunities, optimize service, and execute daily operational tasks related to customer shipments. Serving as the main point of contact for key stakeholders across the account portfolio, your focus will be on establishing strong, trusted, and long-term relationships.
Main Responsibilities:

• Execute on customer account strategy to optimize service, seize growth opportunities, and enhance overall account performance.
• Effectively onboard customers.
• Build strong customer relationships with key contacts through communication and provide the highest quality of service.
• Utilize market knowledge and pricing tools to quote customer shipments including, but not limited to, spot loads, mini bids, and RFPs.
• Set pricing strategy with leadership or Yield, when applicable, and ensure accuracy of pricing before submission.
• Develop tender acceptance strategies with a focus on award actualization and load commitment management.
• Ensure shipment details are accurately entered into the transportation management software.
• Utilize scheduling systems to schedule the pickup and delivery appointments for the shipments.
• Collaborate with Carrier Sales to identify the carrier network availability and effective routing guides, when applicable.
• Proactively identify issues, resolve problems, incidents and manage risk.
• Prioritize and respond to internal and external requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Audit and update shipment data for accuracy.
• Proactively review and analyze customer metrics and account data to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, Carrier Sales, Yield, Truckload Strategy, Business Development, and Accounting to optimize the success of the customer account.
• Follow accounting protocols to ensure accurate collections.
• Guide and mentor Truckload Account Development teammates.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements
What we're looking for:

• 2 years of experience in third-party logistics, preferred.
• Ability to align business initiatives with customer account strategy to achieve goals
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple customer accounts
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decision
• Deep understanding of the freight market
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to drive customer account growth
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
• Sound decision-making abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced experience with transportation management software, shipper platforms, and pricing tools

Location: Either in-office in Chicago, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Nashville or Remote.
