Tube Mill Operator
Location: Laurens, SC (On-site)
Department: Tube Mill
Reports To: Tube Mill Production Manager / Mill Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time | 40+ hours/week
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tube Mill Operator to join our production team. In this key role, you'll be responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient operation of the tube mill and crane systems, ensuring high-quality output and consistent performance. Key Responsibilities
· • Lead and coordinate the mill crew during operations and changeovers
· • Ensure tube production meets all quality and order specifications (profile, weld, scarfing, etc.)
· • Set up and adjust the mill during rebuilds, changeovers, and active production
· • Review mill schedules, prepare for upcoming setups, and check offline rafts
· • Record essential production data (orders, coils, run times, speeds, quantities)
· • Collect and submit coil and bundle tags each shift
· • Monitor equipment performance and alert maintenance as needed
· • Operate overhead and dual-trolley cranes to support tube production
· • Work closely with Cut-Off Operator, End Welder, Multi-Craft Technician, and others to ensure smooth workflow
· • Support the team during breakdowns, bottlenecks, or scheduled downtime
· • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
· • Train new team members as needed
· • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures
· • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications
· • 2+ years of hands-on experience in tube mill operations
· • Proven ability to lead crews and troubleshoot in real-time
· • Strong technical understanding of mill equipment, setup, and product standards
· • Comfortable using production and inventory software systems
· • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
· • Deep understanding of workplace safety and PPE compliance
· • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions quickly
Physical Requirements
· • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods (8–10 hour shifts)
· • Must be able to bend, kneel, twist, reach, and move safely in a manufacturing environment
· • Regular use of overhead cranes, forklifts, hand tools, welding/cutting equipment
· • Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toed boots, ear protection, welding attire, face shields, etc.
Education & Experience
· • Associate’s degree or technical diploma preferred
· • Trade certification or journeyman's card highly desirable
· • Strong mechanical/electrical background, especially in metal rolling mills and induction heating systems

Schedule
• Full-time | 8–10-hour shifts
• Evening shift
• Overtime and weekend availability as needed
Relocation Requirement
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Laurens, SC prior to starting the role. Relocation support may be offered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
