Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for professional Security Guards to help create a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests, performers, and staff. This is a hands-on role that combines front-door duties with interior patrols and guest interaction before, during, and after shows.
What You’ll Do
• Arrive on time in all-black business attire; store personal items in employee areas and clock in via Toast after your scheduled meal break.
• Attend a pre-show briefing led by the manager on duty to learn the lineup of comedians, VIP guests, ticket counts, and any potential security concerns.
• Set up the door area: unlock doors, pull out the podium, place stanchions and ropes for First Entry and General Admission lines, position signage, and check ticket-scanning equipment.
• Manage lines and check guests in: greet guests, direct them to the correct line, check IDs, visually confirm tickets, and search bags according to policy.
• Work closely with the box office to coordinate walk-up sales, guest list, and ticket counts.
• During the show: stay at your assigned post (front door or interior “T” intersection) to check late arrivals, scan tickets, and discreetly monitor the audience for disruptive behavior. Follow the club’s warning and removal protocol if necessary
. • Assist comedians and VIPs: know performers by face and name, confirm unscheduled arrivals with the manager before admitting them.
• Use calm, respectful communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques to handle issues verbally whenever possible; call emergency services if anyone’s safety is at risk.
• After the show: help patrons exit through both front and emergency doors, maintain crowd control, handle lost-and-found inquiries, and plug in ticketing equipment for charging for the next day.
Best Practices We Expect
• Non-threatening posture and positive body language; avoid physical contact unless absolutely necessary for safety reasons and use minimum force.
• Offer options and involve a manager or supervisor if a guest is upset or aggressive.
• Document incidents thoroughly when intervention is required.
• Communicate with fellow security to coordinate breaks and ensure coverage at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Valid California Guard Card (required)
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand post and patrol on foot for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Be part of an iconic comedy club where your professionalism keeps our guests safe and your approachability helps create a positive experience. You’ll work closely with managers and fellow security personnel in a high-energy, team-focused environment.
