Underground Laborer

Job Summary: We are looking for a hardworking and dependable Underground Laborer to support our field crews in underground utility construction. This entry-level role is essential to maintaining safe and productive job sites. The Laborer will assist with trenching, material handling, site prep, and general cleanup. No heavy experience is required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are a must. Key Responsibilities: • Assist crew with trenching, backfilling, and conduit installation. • Hand dig around utilities and help with potholing as needed. • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment. • Set up and maintain traffic control zones, barricades, and trench boxes. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite. • Follow direction from the Leadman and Foreman. • Support general labor tasks including moving materials, sweeping, and jobsite prep/cleanup. • Learn and follow all safety procedures and worksite protocols. Preferred Qualifications: • 0–2 years of construction or underground utility experience. • Willingness to work outdoors in various conditions. • Ability to take direction, work well with a team, and stay productive throughout the day. • Basic understanding of safety practices on a construction site. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods. • Comfortable working in trenches, confined spaces, and all-weather conditions. Training Opportunities: Candidates will have the opportunity to receive on-the-job training and advance into higher roles such as Technician or Leadman. Safety certifications can also be earned with time and performance.
