The Impact You Will Have Â

The primary role of this individual will be as a member of the Small Balance Group Underwriting Team which consists of an Underwriters and Analysts.Â

Primary ResponsibilitiesÂ
Â

Collect and review the necessary due diligence items to assist the underwriter in closing each loanÂ
-
Conduct site visits to assess the condition and quality of multifamily propertiesÂ
-
Able and willing to travel as needed to perform necessary job duties including site inspections and client visitsÂ
-
Interact with the borrower, broker and team members to provide updates as progress is made towards loan closing Â
-
Update the underwriting model as new operating data is received during the transaction process Â
-
Conduct reviews of market areas, property and site characteristicsÂ
-
Review of borrower and management qualificationsÂ
-
Expand knowledge and expertise of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit guidelines Â
-
Order and review third-party Appraisals, Engineering Reports, Seismic Reports, Phase I Environmental Assessments and Operations and Maintenance (O & M) ReportsÂ
-
Review third-party reports to determine any findings that could impact the proposed loan Â
-
Maintain organized and fully documented underwriting files on loans in process Â

Assist in the crafting of loan narratives for submission to the Chief UnderwriterÂ
-
Ensure that the underwriting team goals and initiatives are completed in a timely mannerÂ
-
Engage in post-closing activities as needed to ensure continued excellence in loan portfolio performanceÂ
-
Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travelÂ
-
Perform other duties as assignedÂ

Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotelyÂ

Education and ExperienceÂ
Â

Bachelor’s degree (Business or Finance Degree preferred) Â
-
3+ years of financial analyst experience with commercial real estate owner, broker, appraiser or financial institution requiredÂ
-
Experience with GSE Multifamily lending (Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac) preferred Â
-
Excellent financial modeling skills including thorough knowledge of MS ExcelÂ
-
Proficient in MS Word and OutlookÂ

This position has an estimated base salary of $70,000 - $80,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
