Upstream Product Marketing Associate

The Upstream Product Marketing Associate reports to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for planning and execution of marketing strategy by researching, developing, launching and expanding market of Mizuho America (MAI) products. The Product Marketing Associate participates in market research, overall development of product development, associated marketing strategy, and management of existing products. Responsibilities • Develops revenue generation and market penetration strategies based on market, and competitive and financial analyses • Develops sales forecasts based on sales and pipeline analyses • Works closely with the sales team and develops relationships with KOLs to understand where the market is moving and defines market segmentation • Acquires market intelligence through market research and long-term trend analyses • Produces US, LatAm, Canada and global pricing plans each year • Champions customer needs to internal teams including MA development, MC and third-party manufacturers • Acquires knowledge and up-to-date information about Mizuho product lines, their markets and competition: acts as an in-house expert of assigned products • Works with Downstream Marketing to develop and implement strategy to launch and expand market for assigned products based on market analyses • Monitors the sales performance of assigned products and develops plans to improve and enhance the results • Performs product demonstrations for customers and sales representatives • Provides support and education to the customers and sales team on an ongoing basis • Seeks and maintains relationship with key surgeons and other decision makers to understand their needs and enhances their interest in Mizuho products • Leads, in collaboration with the QA and Engineering teams, the overall product development process including understanding of surgeons’ needs, proposed market share, pricing, and product development. • Determines the process of a new product development • Guides Engineering team with input on research in order to determine the best way to produce a particular product • Oversees product development in a cross functional way, reports to different stakeholders, assigns priorities and timelines by making sure project proceeds as scheduled • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineers and manufacturers Requirements: We are eager to welcome a new team member who is: • College degree or equivalent experience is required with preference for study in marketing, business or scientific curriculum • 3 – 5 years of Medical/surgical device industry experience is essential • Regulatory environment experience is preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent analytical skills • Self-driven and confident in working across internal and external teams • Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks • Collaborative and able to build rapport with customers, internal colleagues and sales • 30%-40% travel may be required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
