Advanced Practice Provider – NowCare Urgent Care

 

Bayview Physicians Group is a progressive, independent, multi-specialty physician group serving the Hampton Roads region of southeast coastal Virginia. We are currently seeking Advanced Practice Providers (PAs) to join our team of experienced and collegial urgent care professionals through our NowCare Urgent Care Centers.

 

NowCare operates seven convenient locations across South Hampton Roads, all open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm, providing walk in access to quality urgent care services. In addition to urgent care services, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will deliver Occupational Health services as part of NowCare Urgent Care’s offering for local employers.

Responsibilities:

As an APP at NowCare Urgent Care, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, high-quality medical care in a fast-paced, outpatient setting:

  • Evaluate and treat and wide range of acute illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages
  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including labs, EKGs, and X-rays
  • Formulate diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Perform common urgent care procedures:
    • Laceration repair (suturing/stapling)
    • Incision and drainage
    • Splinting and basic orthopedic care
    • Foreign body removal
    • Wound care and dressing changes
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, other APPs, nurses, radiologic technologists, and support staff
  • To be DOT certified
  • Perform DOT physical exams and complete documentation
  • Perform drug and alcholog testing:
    • Urine drug screens (UDS)
    • Breath alcohol testing
    • Chain of custody procedures
