Job Purpose
The Vice President CNS Business Unit, will be responsible for optimizing business performance by maximizing growth and profitability of products within the U.S. CNS Commercial Business Unit (BU). He/she will lead the BU, motivating and developing the team to deliver upon BU goals and customer expectations. This will include personal accountability and responsibility for the full therapeutic area P&L, developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies and associated tactics to optimize operational and financial goals. Specifically, the individual will have accountability for providing strategic leadership and cross-functional direction to successfully drive the global commercialization, launch, and marketing of CNS Products and commercial preparation and launch of such products. The individual must be capable of developing credible and trusted relationships with direct reports as well as key stakeholders across the Commercial, Corporate, Global Commercial and R&D organizations and key HCP customers. This role must also foster a customer centered business culture ensuring patients are first in all business activities. This must be accomplished while continuing to deliver commitments within budget, revenue targets and timelines ensuring BU compliance with federal, state and local laws, industry regulations and guidelines. This position will report to the Kyowa Kirin North American President and be a part of the U.S. Senior Leadership Team
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Commercialization (launch and full P&L) efforts for CNS products
- Set Goals and Strategy for the BU to ensure efficient and profitability of BU
- Develop and lead Marketing, Sales and Market Access programs and staff for the BU
- Responsible for setting a compelling vision, defining the BU strategy, providing leadership and ensuring execution of brand and key account plans to achieve goals.
- Acts within all applicable laws and guidelines, internal regulations, company strategies and Kyowa Kirin’s corporate philosophy and supports the President of U.S. Commercial in achievement of company
objectives.
Position Requirements:
A recognized and experienced cross-functional leader with biotechnology / pharmaceuticals experience with a recent track record of successful product launches in the CNS therapeutic area. Successful record in developing markets for product launch. BS in a life sciences or related field; MBA preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are required, as well as a level of comfort working in a highgrowth,fast-paced matrix environment, where influencing and negotiating across an organization is key.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to attract talent and create a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
- An agile learner who has the ability to grow with the organization, taking on increasing responsibilities as Experience in leading a CNS sales and marketing organization
- Recent launch experience in the CNS field a strong plus
- Minimum of 10 years people and industry leadership experience through progressively increasing leadership positions. Diverse Pharma/Biotech Commercial experience is required in Sales Leadership, Marketing
Leadership. Strong knowledge of Market Access and Commercial Operations/Analytics is necessary. - Ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams and to achieve results through cooperation with other business units and across functions.
Physical Requirements:
- Travel may be required (US and International) up to 50% of the time
