As part of the E&I consumer team, this role will be responsible for consumer strategy, specific to how we evolve coverage in a way that enables choice, predictability, and certainty. You will partner closely with the broader Consumer team to leverage data and insights about member behaviors, develop a perspective on what drives solid consumer experiences, and share work across E&I to create actionable plans for the business to better orient coverage around consumer preferences.

Objectives and Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the strategy and development of the next generation of consumer coverage products and experiences
• Create a multi-year roadmap to evolve consumer choice, develop process to hold business to these objectives.
• Act as a strategic thought leader to solve unique and complex growth challenges with broad impact on the business
• Organizes and sets a consumer research agenda and develop processes to infuse consumer research in development of new client and consumer products.
• Translates consumer insights into actionable business ideas and processes.
• Develops deep understanding of the E&I business and commercial insurance market.
• Analyzes the market and regulatory environment; predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them.
• Establish objectives, define deliverables, structure work effort, and mobilize cross-functional teams to deliver a portfolio of products that meet our consumers unique and personalized needs
• Establish and maintain consumer innovation process and governance.
• Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches.
• Partnering with internal and external teams/vendors to create a build vs buy vs partner strategy to accelerate the launch of leading consumer coverage offerings
• Build and foster a team culture which understands the importance of innovation, rapid testing and learning
• Lead and develop talent within a team ensuring high levels of engagement and performance

Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated business acumen, customer focus, and a strong track record of launching market leading digital health products
• 7+ years of experience within the healthcare community working across multiple payer environments
• Experience leading and having accountability for specific product results (P&L, ROI, NPS, and Affordability)
• Experience as a strategic thought leader who inspires others by communicating a compelling vision and goals; demonstrates superior intellectual capacity and sound judgment to lead in changing and ambiguous environments
• Experience working with vendors and external partners to integrate solutions into existing products and platforms
• Experience and comfort working in a highly matrixed organization; adept at setting direction and establishing process for his/her organization and ensuring flawless delivery
• Ability to bring fresh ideas and new thinking and confidence to challenge the status quo
• Ability to build relationships with people from diverse areas of the organization and external "key influencers" and business partners
• Expert collaborator, communicator, and executive presence
• Solid understanding of market, industry, and consumer trends and how to apply them on an ongoing basis to create leading solutions

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $188,000 to $357,600 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
