VP of Engineering - Data Analytics

Adyen has invested significantly in the last years in building a state-of-the-art data platform with full engineering control that allows us to be fast, reliable and independent. All Adyen’s data converges into our data platform from which we eventually build scalable analytics products that allow us to measure and understand performance, spot opportunities and eventually also train machine learning models. The analytics, which can be complex, are also offered back to merchants to fuel their accounting, optimizations, marketing and financial operations.

We are seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to lead the development and execution of our strategy for data analytics. As the leader of the Engineering Data Analytics team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and experimentation in this area, as well as owning the performance and operations of our data analytics platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the overall strategy for engineering execution and experimentation for data analytics.

• Lead the performance and scalability of our data analytics platform.

• Empower and manage a team of managers of managers, in charge of several aspects of the engineering behind analytics.

• Research and stay updated with current trends, leading efforts to push the boundaries of what's possible with data analytics.

• Own the day-to-day operations and ensure operational excellence

• Be the data leader in Chicago and help build a  diverse and inclusive data team from scratch.

• Represent Adyen in meetings with merchants and other stakeholders, as well as public audiences.

• Collaborate closely with VPs of Product to ensure high-quality development and alignment with company goals and industry demands.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership experience in an engineering environment

• Experience with data analytics, and big data platforms

• Understanding of industry and trends is a big plus

• Solid understanding in big data technologies, tooling, practices and players

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Proven track record of delivering and operating high-performing and scalable systems

• Experience leading and managing a team of engineers and managers to deliver products on time and to high standards.
