The Role

As the Director of Sales for Engineering Simulation Software at Datacor, you will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to promote and sell our advanced simulation software solutions, currently comprised of solutions from Chemstations and Applied Flow Technology (AFT), to target industries. You will lead a dynamic sales team, foster customer relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets, while contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization. Your role will involve driving market expansion, building strong partnerships, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective sales strategies and outstanding leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Lead and manage a dynamic sales team spread across multiple Datacor product groups including Chemstations and Applied Flow Technology, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to achieve individual and team performance targets. Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company goals and market trends.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Work across multiple channels to market, on a global basis, to determine optimal GTM strategy for success, including domestic new logo AE’s, CSM’s and international channel partners.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging industry knowledge, market analysis, and customer insights. Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan, focusing on market penetration, customer segmentation, and revenue growth.
  • Sales Execution: Drive the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to closing deals and contract negotiations. Monitor sales activities, track metrics, and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs, pain points, and objectives to effectively position Datacor's simulation software solutions. Foster strong customer relationships, conduct presentations, and deliver compelling value propositions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of sales efforts with product enhancements and customer requirements.
  • Market Insights: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to continuously refine sales strategies and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Sales Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, regularly assessing progress and implementing improvements to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred; MBA considered a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in Engineering Simulation Software and/or CAD Software sales, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Extensive experience selling complex software solutions, preferably in engineering simulation or related technical industries.
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, simulation technology, and product development cycles.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to drive sales growth and exceed targets.
  • Specific experience selling software to the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Water & Wastewater, Power, Mining and other process industries considered a plus.
  • Documented past of exceeding sales targets and building dynamic, global sales teams.
  • Knowledge of Chemstations CHEMCAD and/or Applied Flow Technology’s (AFT) Fathom, Arrow, Impulse and xStream, or other simulation software considered a huge plus.
