Head of Studio Art Production, CGI, and Retouching

Position Overview: The Head of Studio Art Production, CGI, and Retouching is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire studio production process, from concept to final output. This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of the  CGI, retouching, digital and print production process, and can drive the creative execution across multiple platforms while ensuring the highest quality standards are met. The Head of Studio will work closely with creative directors, project managers, and external partners to deliver visually stunning and impactful work that aligns with the company’s brand and creative vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of CGI artists, retouchers, and production specialists, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective execution of projects.
- Foster a creative and productive studio environment that encourages innovation, skill development, and high-quality output.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, helping to develop their technical skills and creative abilities.
- Art Production Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of art production, including CGI, retouching, and compositing, from initial concept through final delivery.
- Ensure the highest standards of visual quality and consistency across all projects, maintaining the integrity of the brand’s aesthetic.
- Manage the workflow and scheduling of the studio team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- CGI & Retouching Expertise:
- Lead the development of CGI and retouching techniques that push the boundaries of visual storytelling and brand expression.
- Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in CGI and retouching, implementing best practices to keep the studio at the cutting edge of the industry.
- Collaborate with creative directors to develop and refine visual concepts, bringing ideas to life through advanced CGI and retouching techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with creative directors, photographers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on creative vision and project goals.
- Work closely with project managers and global market  teams to ensure clear communication of project timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
- Foster strong relationships within cross-functional disciplines (including Product Development) to ensure all needs are being met for final launch materials.
- Collaborate with external partners and freelancers, managing relationships and ensuring their work meets the studio’s quality standards.
- Quality Control & Process Improvement:
- Establish and enforce quality control processes to ensure all outputs meet or exceed client and internal expectations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve studio workflows, processes, and tools to increase efficiency, quality, and innovation.
- Implement and maintain a robust system for file management, archiving, and version control to ensure the organization and accessibility of all assets.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the studio’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across all projects.
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of studio equipment, software, and other production tools.
- Evaluate and onboard new technologies and vendors to enhance the studio’s capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in art production, CGI, and retouching, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in CGI, retouching, and digital art production, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality work.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams.
- Strong understanding of current industry trends, tools, and technologies in CGI, retouching, and digital production.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Blender, and other relevant tools.
