Walmart Category Advisor
Fiskars
Bentonville, AR
At Fiskars Group, we stand at the crossroads of tradition and innovation, committed to creating exceptional products that inspire and delight our customers. Our garden business is growing, and we are looking for a Walmart Category Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in developing and executing category growth strategies that balance the needs of Fiskars Group's garden business while keeping the shopper at the center of everything we do.
Who Are We?
We’re not just a team; we’re visionaries dedicated to enhancing everyday experiences through our products. Our iconic brands have a rich history, and we continue to evolve by understanding and meeting the needs of our shoppers. As part of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our category strategy, ensuring our products are available at every touchpoint in the shopper journey.
The Role: A Blend of Strategy and Execution
As the Walmart Category Advisor, you will:
- Develop and articulate a vision for category growth, setting clear plans and paths to achieve measurable and actionable execution that delivers joint growth.
- Be an expert on category health, shopper behavior, and emerging trends, creating and driving business opportunities based on evolving shopper behaviors.
- Bring omni-channel shopper concepts to life, ensuring products are available across all touchpoints in the shopper journey.
- Influence category and customer strategy proactively, identifying growth opportunities for both the customer and Fiskars Group garden business.
- Lead and influence customer category reviews, managing data effectively, closing knowledge gaps, and aligning the team with category priorities.
- Anticipate future category and market needs, driving innovative solutions.
- Coach, develop, and empower team members, fostering a “Category Mindset” as a competitive advantage.
About You: Our Ideal Teammate
You are a strategic thinker and a proactive leader with a passion for understanding shoppers and driving business impact. You bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, finance, accounting, data analytics, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
- 4-6 years of progressive experience in sales, category management, trade marketing, analytics, or consumer and shopper insights.
- Proven experience leading customer engagements in space and assortment, pricing strategy, trade promotion strategy, and omnichannel solutions, building collaborative partnerships with retail customers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a vision and influence at all levels, understanding customer operations and what’s required to win at retail.
- Experience with Luminate & JDA, utilizing these platforms for data analysis and strategic planning to optimize category performance.
- Results orientation with a proven track record of driving business impact.
- A curious, self-starting mindset with a relentless pursuit of understanding “why something happened” rather than just “what happened.”
- A demonstrated passion for insights and their application to drive business.
- Courage to speak up and take an unpopular stance, attacking ambiguity head-on.
- The ability to synthesize varied sources of information into actionable category visions.
- Strong written, verbal, and persuasive communication skills, excelling in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with varied functions and roles to drive results.
- Technical skills in research, experience, and critical thinking.
- A strong understanding of business operations.
